Some of you have received notifications on civ battles that takes place today. This is not the case. I am implementing a much better table sorting functionality and had to create some new battles to experiment with it.

I am sorry for the inconvenience, this may have caused you.

Site is NOT abandoned (for good, anyway!)

Just wanted to let users know that CivMultiplayer.com is not inactivated or anything. Not much is happening, though, which is primarily because we need users to host games since I am not available to do so at the moment.

When Civilization V comes out, I am sure this site will awaken again - and hopefully much before.

Just my five cents...

I want to say thank you to all who registered on the site. We still need some more activity, but I am optimistic.

Noob's night was a success. Oktober Storm and I hosted two games, each with 6-7 players. There is some finetuning to be done, but overall, it was some great games.

Here is the after action report from the Noob's Night Setup B game which had settings identical to Setup A hosted by Oktober Storm.

Feel free to rate the battle if you participated, and please write comments with your experience if you joined.

We need more admins and activities at CivMultiplayer.com

Summary: This community really needs more active and dedicated players to plan and host games. Due to different reasons, I will not personally be active as battle coordinator and server host in the coming months. However, naturally I will still be behind the scenes and help out with questions, writing news etc.

As admin and founder, I created this website years ago in the hope of being able to start a different kind of community than CivPlayers.com. A community where all kinds of players would meet up and participate in all kinds of different leagues and games and where there would be a lot of different admins and battle coordinators.

Users have been registering on the site in a steady flow since the beginning and for that I am very grateful. However, the vision I had was weekly battles with 6-12 players. That is pretty far away from the current status of the site. Also, I will have my hands full with my soon-to-be-born son and furthermore, I find myself feeling it like a duty to host battles - so a lot of the fun of battles is lost for me.

On the bright side, there are some pretty dedicated Civ-players here - although they do not participate on the site as much as I would like :-) And a few of these are considering or have already become admins and it is up to them to plan and host battles until I return with hopefully renewed strength.

All players who are interested in becoming admins or just server host of a single battle is very welcome! It is easy to setup battles, heck I will even do that for you as long as you host and report the battles ;-)

Well, for now, I would like to thank you all for your interest in CivMultiplayer.com and hope that you will follow the activities on the site and participate whenever there is a battle you want to joi, even though there may be periods without many (or any) scheduled battles.

Also, feel free to email me at info@civmultiplayer.com with suggestions and ideas for the site, the way to hold leagues and matches, new services on the website - and it would be great to get some ideas for how this site can prepare for the upcoming Civilization V.
